What to do?
« on: October 06, 2016, 05:07:16 AM »
Hey! Im a new Avast user!

I recently purchased an old computer from an online auction, that doesent support Windows XP (wich i like) so i was forced to "update" to Vista

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5v--KuzgmY4

Anyway...i could not use my favorite Firewall Sygate..wich i like most of all because it is so easy to use...

http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/sygate_personal_firewall_free.html

So...i was practicly forced to purchase both antivirus and firewall software...so i decided to choose Aavasti over AVG...mainly because i liked the logo  :D

And really have had nothing to complain about...untill now!

So everything was fine...and Avast even offered me this cool "hide your IP for only 8 dollards a  month"...needles to say i was totally HOOKED!

And everything was ok and cool...untill i made a BIG MISTAKE!

Something was wrong with my computers clock. It kept going way off!

I had originally downloaded an American English version of Windows Vista business...but since i live in Finland i changed the time settings AFTER first downloading and installing it on this computer in English... Aparently WINDOWS VIRUS didnt like that and just went BATSHIT CRAZY!

So i went to an online internetforum...and discovered that my computers clock was around 1 hour late.

I tried to fix the problem...and thats exactly what i did!

I had stuff to do, so i shut down my computer, locked it down...and went shopping!

So...several hours later i came back home!

And you probobly by now already figured out what happened  :o

The machine basicly screamed that i had comited a hideous horrible VIOLATION by changing the computers time settings

So now also my Secure VPN online was not working anymore. It basicly says...well...look it up yourself!

So now there is a "Technical issue"

And it basicly wont work.

So i ordered the Secure VPN for another month all
over again...i payed with PayPal and downloaded successfully the lisence file...and then...

http://s467.photobucket.com/user/Nukedukem11/media/Lisence_zpsiw8btjfg.jpg.html

"side by side configuration"

So anybody know what i have to do now? Should i basicly uninstall avast...and if i do...then how in gods green earth do i get it up and running again?

There is free AV and built in firewall in windows OS ... Win 10 even comes with built in AV   ;)

Anyway i suggest you attach FRST diagnostic logs here and let a expert take a look

First of all, please do not use so many empty lines in a post.

The G620 does support Windows XP

Sounds like a dead bios battery and/or wrong bios setting and/or time sync in Windows.

Sounds like you are using Windows illegally.

It has nothing to do with a Windows virus.
Changing time settings don't make Windows go crazy.

Windows Vista comes with a firewall and there are free av's.

Webboards normally use the timezone of the server, in order to show your time on a webboard you often need to changes your profile settings for it.

"side by side configuration"
That almost always a conflict between two applications.
