Computer Catalog
« on: February 04, 2006, 12:05:08 PM »
Hi,

I've got several different clients and want to set a policy for each type of client.
So i made several Computer groups in the Computer Catalog.

The Computer Catalog is also known as root, at the root i can change SMTP and lots of other things.
But when i go to the properties of the Computer Group i created everything is grayed out.

I Gave the administrator Full Access Rights on the Computer Catalog and Computer Groups.
Also tried to set the Parent group to the Computer group instead of root, doesn't change a thing.

It looks like some Access Rights aren't setup correctly, but I'm unable to find where they need to be set.
At an higher level than the Computer Catalog you can't set Access Rights.

Who can help me?

Kind regards,

Cristian van Ee.

No, this is actually normal.

The controls in the non-root groups are grayed because they are, by default, inherited from the parent group. To override the inheritance (and redefine the settings), use your right mouse button (right-click on a control and select Define value)

Quite simple if you know the trick, right? ;)
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving's not for you.

Wow, rightclicking... could have known that ;-)

But that gives a new dimension to the grayed out principle.

Thx and keep up the good work, love avast.
