Avast for Business (Cloud) Installlation Fails on Server 2012R2
« on: October 19, 2016, 05:47:11 PM »
I am trying to install Avast for Business (Cloud) on a Server 2010 R2 which is on a Hyper-V virtual. I've already installed it on 2 other servers, one Server 2012 R2 and one Server 2008.

First I had trouble uninstalling Avast Endpoint, but i finally got it to uninstall by connecting to the Virtual through the Failover Cluster Manager instead of RDP.

After uninstalling, when I try to install the cloud version of Avast, I click on "Install", the progress bar goes to almost 100%, then i get an error:

There was an error whuile completing the setup process. Restart computer."

I view the setup log but can't make sense of it. Restarting doesn't help and I can't get the virtual into safe mode so I can run the Avast Cleaner. Any suggestions would be welome.

The error log is too long to post but here are some excerpts from it:

2016-10-19 14:30:33Infodldwrap[2456,2192]HttpGet: 'iplugins-0.vpx' was successfully downloaded (ip: 104.104.245.25, size: 13272 bytes).

Jesse - look at this link to change your "start-up delay": http://www.howtonetworking.com/server/hyper-v28.htm

and then hammer on the F8 button on boot-up

right click on your downloaded installer file and go to properties. If there is a check box beside Blocked then uncheck it and press OK. Right click on the file again and click Run As Administrator and you should be fine.
