aswMBR strange download from your site - no SSL, unsigned

Hi, I have downloaded aswmbr from your site, but the download seems "questionable" and so I wanted to verify what I am experiencing is normal. 

1. The URL I used was http://public.avast.com/~gmerek/aswMBR.htm.  I tried to access this URL using HTTPS, but when I do so Chrome tells me the site refused to connect.  I noticed that most links on your site to your site use SSL - is it correct that aswMBR cannot be downloaded using HTTPS? 

2. Also, the downloaded file (aswmbr.exe) is not digitally signed - is it correct that aswMBR is not digitally signed?

3.  If both of the above are correct/normal, how am I to be sure that what I downloaded is legitimate?
