Any info on next beta? Current one doesn't really tackle anything other than front GUI and even this one is heavily incomplete beyond actual front panel. Menus, settings and popups underneath are identical to old ones.

How important is the webshield?  I normally would install just the file & web shields.  But since the webshield seems to be doing something odd with my internet connection (see buffer bloat comments earlier in thread), I am now only running the file shield.  I realize I would be vulnerable to phising sites.  Anything else to worry about?

Well, Web Shield plays a quite significant role in protection so I'd recommend installing it.

Key Web Shield roles:
- blocks malware and exploits before they reach actual browser
- intercepts malware on clean sites that might be delivered through external iFrame (hijacked 3rd party ads)
- blocks known malware distribution websites/domains (useful for blocking web generated polymorphic malware where every download from same web address generates different EXE)
- triggers CyberCapture feature on unknown files

I consider it to be the most important of all the shields.
Most threats come through the internet.

Preventing it getting on the system, is better than trying to catch it if it gets on the system.

Seems to knock about 200meg of my download speeds (besides the bufferbloat issue).   :-\

When will we have a suspicious software monitor like AVG?

Well with CyberCapture, DeepScreen  and Hardened Mode, you could say that is already there.

Now that Avast has a controlling interest in A V G that the various functions would merge.

CyberCapture is a default-deny with cloud submission and analysis, hardened mode is a whitelist/file reputation. What he is asking for is the Identity protection behavior blocker. Deepscreen is the one that most looks like this, it runs the program and checks what it does. But i feel that it is not good enough. For me it is not like a BB since it runs the program for a limited time and i guess the only function is to decloak obfuscated malware.
