Just a thought

Since you are merging AVG with Avast, it might be a good idea to provide a way to uninstall avast in the cases where avast makes your computer completely useless, as happens from time to time.  The professional community is going to be less tolerant of avast installations screwing up main servers.

Thank you.

Besides that, there is already a way to completely remove avast.

The reason I'm posting this in the beta section is because avg and avast are being merged and is the next beat.  Also, if you read through the forums, Avast borks the computer so bad that Windows cannot be logged into, even in safe mode, making uninstalling avast nearly impossible.  This has happened to me as well.  I had to completely reinstall windows because there was no way to uninstall avast, even in safe mode.

Thank you.

Yes there was a way to remove avast, you just didn't/don't knew/know it.

And avast and avg are not gonna be merged (at least not in the near future)

They will be merged, protection wise. On the outside and business wise, they'll remain separate products.

At the time Avast screwed up my computer, I was unaware that it was possible to uninstall avast even when Windows could not be booted into safe Mode (I still don't know how to do that).  From what I understand, it's rather cumbersome (and in my opinion, quite stupid that Avast is not easier to uninstall when Windows cannot be booted into safe mode)

Unfortunately, I don't know all of the the merger details between avast and avg.  In the Beta description, it says something about integrating with avg.  I just put this up in case the developers at avast try to make avg as cumbersome to uninstall if things go wrong.

Thank you.

I think in talking about the integration of avast and avg, was more about why this beta was late rather than they are already integrated.

   Hi all,
sorry for the delay with this beta, but it's finally here. We are now busy working on integration with AVG but I hope you will like the changes coming early next year
