Gaming ports
« on: March 03, 2006, 03:31:08 AM »
Hi saying your product is awesome
I am wondering about gaming ports like 28960, 20510, and 20500
I am trying to start a server for a game and need these ports enabled.  Now i would like to know if avast scans these and somehow disables these to where my computer can't recieve other computers connecting to my computer.  How would i disable avast just for these ports but keep everything else about avast still running? Now if it isnt avast then thats great.  I connect from my comp -> linksys router -> modem -> internet

Now i would like to know if avast scans these
Standard Shield at HIGH sensitivity scans all files (read, create, modify) and at NORMAL sensitivity, which is enough, the running programs.
WebShield scans the HTTP traffic whatever it is through port 80 (by default) but you can add any other one into its settings.

and somehow disables these to where my computer can't recieve other computers connecting to my computer.
avast is not a firewall, does not block, only scans.

How would i disable avast just for these ports but keep everything else about avast still running?
Just let the default settings  8)
