Spot on : So why would you rely on blacklisting, if whitelisting offers better protection
Greetz, Red.
Every whitelisting program I have tried (or default deny) as Comodo calls it, as been a usability nightmare. Way too many user prompts. I have tried Voodooshield, SecureAPlus, the various versions of Comodo, etc... None of them lasted long on my machines, as clicking "allow", "Ignore", "add to exceptions" etc became a part time job.
Just this past week, I tried Comodo FW for the first time in probably over a year. I tried to open my VPN software and got SIX prompts before I disabed CIS and uninstalling it. Six prompts, which probably would have been more if I had not disabled it, over a popular VPN software. And Comodo has been trying to build a whitelist for like 10+ years.
