Avast is subtly draining my battery (in the background)
« on: October 31, 2016, 09:43:51 PM »
My HP Pavilion g6 with, now, Windows 10 and Avast Pro 12.3.2280 and I feel the strain on my battery lately. Windows says whatever background processes are making it eat 75% with the next thing being Chrome browser at 20%.
I read in another thread check to see what I'm doing to make it go into action or scan, but there's nothing coming specifically to mind.

Try the following:

Repair Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed
https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB204
If Repair doesn't fix the problem, try the following:
Clean Install of Avast:

After "repairing," Avast and Chrome have now switched places; thank you!
