'Reset SafeZone' in new (2016) version
« on: November 10, 2016, 06:55:26 PM »
Hi,

The old (2015) SafeZone used to have a button (in Avast configuration, avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB17#) that, I understand, reset the virtual machine that SafeZone basically is (was?).

I can't find the same 'Reset SafeZone' function now, in the new version in Avast Free. Would you help me finding it?

Thank you

SafeZone has been replaced by SafeZone Browser.

SafeZone browser FAQ > https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB209

And there is no new 2016 version.
avast has changed the version numbering 3 versions ago (not counting beta's).

Thank you for the answers.

I see that "SafeZone" in now called "SafeZone Browser" (I suppose that it still accomplishes it's original purpose, please correct me if this is not the case), sorry I didn't paid much attention to the naming before and used 'new/old' '2015/2016' etc. instead of the proper version numbering for the sake of simplicity.
I read the SafeZone Browser FAQ and the FAQ forum post before posting this question. By the way, I also already know that the feature I'm interested in is now called 'Bank' instead of 'Pay' Mode.

Side note: Asyn, the link you posted still says "SafeZone browser is [...] available when you install or upgrade to any paid version of Avast Antivirus 2016". Instead, today it is found in free version also. As stated before, the free version is the one I am referring to for my question.

------

The SafeZone Browser FAQ and the linked forum post say literally nothing about resetting the machine (if I'm just dumb and couldn't see it, maybe it's reworded in a way I don't pay enough attention to, then please, point me out the exact place). Deleting browser history is not the point here (rather a side-effect, at most).

So, my question is still the same: in SafeZone Browser version 1.51.2220.62, how do I reset the virtual machine, that SafeZone Browser Bank Mode loads, to the 'disk image', so to say, original state? That is, just to state clearly what I mean, similarly to the feature given by the 'Reset SafeZone' in (old) SafeZone.

Thank you again for your time.

The SafeZone Browser works completely different as it is a browser and not "VM".
There is no reset, not is it needed.

You're right about that, the sticky needs an update. ;)
