Putting Avast On My New PC
« on: December 08, 2003, 05:14:31 PM »
I expect my new Evesham to be delivered next week. Now I am a non techie, so this might sound like a "no brainer"

Can i just download Avast onto my new PC and leave my current copy on my present PC which my husband is going to use.

We are both retired home users, but I am not sure what is involved. Do we need to reregister when I put the programme on my new PC? :)

if you use avast pro you must buy another license. If you use home you can use the same code as long as its in the same house

Hi Gingerlily,

IMHO (and the Avast team are the best to confirm this), you would probably be better off by registering your second copy of Avast Home seperately and not to use the same registration code for both.

My theory being, when your PC(s) are checking the Adwil servers for updates, you might get a problem with the two PC's returning different details to servers. ie the Adwil servers might wonder what the hack is going on if they are presented with the same registration code from two seperate PC's.

Good luck,
W.
