Miranda IM problems

hello there.
i have installed avast 4.6 home-edition.
the problem i have is that i can´t really use miranda im anymore. if i try to chat with one of my buddies only my opponent can read my messages i can´t?

then if i logoff and logon again i can read his or her message.?!?
strange isn´t it?

i just don´t know what else i coul do. even if avast is disabled it won´t work.

help... >:(

Do you have a firewall and are the various Avast services allowed through the firewall?

Double click the "a" ball in the Task tray, select the Instant Messaging provider in the left pane of the opened user interface, click the Customize button near the top right and in the Provider Configuration section, and in the newly opened window make sure there is a checkmark in the box for Miranda.

This is a ICQ x Miranda problem, not an Avast problem.
You've got to upgrade ICQ plugin of Miranda. I was told that Trillian users had similar problem.

I saw that info at the Miranda site but since ICQ was not mentioned in the original post, I did not notice the connection.
