Cleanup or screw up?
« on: November 27, 2016, 08:04:57 PM »
I am using Avast Pro, Win 7 SP1. Avast Cleanup just popped up a window telling me that I had "10 Unnecessary Programs" slowing up my computer, (see attached).

Firstly, how does anyone in Avast know what is, or is not, necessary for me? At least one of the programs, Roboform Taskbar icon is vital for me. Secondly, there is no way of knowing what most of the listed programs are, or how much impact they are having on anything. All those "System Toolbars, what are they? No way to right-click for more information.

No way to make a backup before running the "cleaner". No Undo option. As I understand it I would have to hope that System Restore would undo any damage done. Just click on RUN! Really? I don't think so.

The wording is wrong, the detection is not.
