Avira is going to present its new Avira 9 on the CeBIT this year (beginning of march)

Actually there are some early Betas and some new features are included:
(I'm not going to post any links ;) )
- child safety
- support for IMAP
- configuration wizard
- HTTP upload out of the quarantine
- One-Click-Repair for the OnDemandScan
- Support for Netbooks with a resolution of 800x480

But there is more to come...
one thing i read that its going to have is HIPS

An IP address database
that allows you to browse all (really all) IP addresses.
The database shows you the IP country and converted IP
address information for every IP address.
The whole IP address database

For all those that use ip-address.com to determine
their own IP address they pimped that site. It now shows you
the ISP and has an improved layout.
You can check out your own IP address by clicking here

(Remember, the address revealed is determined by the person clicking the link.)

This is for for all the web guys, if your interested.  :)

Introducing Bespin

Last week Mozilla Labs unveiled the new Bespin project,
an experiment towards developing an "extensible framework for open web development". Bespin is a web-based code editor built using open web technologies.
"We're particularly excited by the prospect of empowering Web developers to hack on the editor itself and make it their own."
This release is Bespin 0.1 and is an initial prototype framework that includes support for basic editing features, such as syntax highlighting,
large file sizes, undo/redo, in-browser preview, and project import/export.
There's an introductory video available, and the source code has been released under the MPL.
The project announcement has lots more information, including a bunch of ways you can get involved with the project.

If it uses the avast! engine, then why is it's rating below that of avast! ???

If you need secure e-mail, then Send may be your answer.
Send offers a solution to those of us who need to send secure e-mail messages from time to time.
You’ll need to create an account with Send. in order to use the service, but once you do,
you just have to fill out the form on the home page and include any attachments that you want to send
in order to deliver a secure message. The encryption algorithm is very strong, and your intended recipients
will have to decrypt the message through Send, which helps to keep the message in the right hands.
Singning up for an account at Send actually happens during the sending of your first secure e-mail.

Starting Monday Feb. 24th 2009, updates are available for those lucky souls using Windows 7 Beta.
The updates can be found by going to Start/All Programs/Windows Updates, as they are not being announced or installed via Automatic Updates.
It must be done manually.
I'm in the process of updating my Windows 7 Beta version now.
