If you don't use Opera as your default browser, (I currently don't) add it to your arsenal of Layered Protection.
You'll notice that I've changed my settings to have VPN Enabled whenever I launch the browser.
Since Opera now offers VPN for free to everyone, it's great whenever you are using Open WiFi.
If you can afford it, using Avast SecureLine is still your best choice. if you can't, open Opera any time you're using Open WiFi.
(I know that Eddy has used Opera as his default browser for a long time.)

@bob3160: Those who don't use Opera Web Browser and want a free VPN. I found a free VPN program. It's called CyberGhost. It has 3 types of plans.
a) Free
b) Premium
c) Premium Plus.

Each of these plans include the following features: Unlimited bandwidth, unlimited traffic, AES 256-bit encryption, and antifingerprinting system. This program has these other functions as well: Surf anonymously, unblock streaming websites, Protect My Internet/Wi-Fi connection, torrent anonymously, unblock basic websites, choose my VPN Server

@ Staticguy,
This topic wasn't about a VPN but about using the VPN built into Opera.
I had reviewed ChyberGhost a long time ago:

A new toy for a grownup boy!

The first thing I did after receiving this Lenovo Z50 was to verify that Superfish wasn't installed. :)
Step two, download Avast and the removal tool for McAfee AV. A trial version was installed on this system.
It isn't so new any more and has done a lot of traveling. :)
This however is very new and arrived a few days ago:

Google Home is now in my home and I'm putting it
through it's paces. Testing all the things it's supposed
to be able to do. https://madeby.google.com/home/

My Amazon Echo is on the other side of the room.

Currently I personally think Echo still beats Google Home.

Last night during a commercial on the TV, my Google home gave me directions to Chinese food near my home.
Dear Google, please what's how you phrase your commercials, Some of us already have something that reacts to:
"Hey Google"  :)

Firefox Trashes SSDs With Constant Writes

Don't know how the user in that article had a setting of 15 seconds (15000 ms). Mine is 600000, 10 minutes (on both systems) and I can't recall having changed it. But I feel even that is overkill, excuse the pun, so I bumped it up to 2400000 ms or 40 minutes.

Since this article  not only listed the potential danger but also listed a fairly easy fix,
I thought it was worth passing along. :)

Certainly worth passing, my comment was in the same vein, given my default values weren't 15 sec. Not that it is much of an issue on my system as neither has an SSD drive.

A fantastic new App called Google PhotoScan
For Android  For iOS

We needed a pictures to send along with some thank you cards
to those that sent condolences for my Father-in-Law's passing.
We only had one picture and this app allowed me to create the image which
I was able to use to print all the photos I needed all the way from 3X5 up to 8 1/2 X 11.
(Windows 10 right click print function made that very easy)

Thanks Google this came along just at the right time. :)

Is anyone else beta testing this ???

http://betanews.com/2016/11/16/malwarebytes-3-0-beta/
As you can see, for me it isn't a replacement but a companion to Avast.
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Anti-Rootkit, Anti-Exploit and Anti-Ransomware are now all rolled in Malwarebytes 3.0,

If you've purchased a lifetime license, it works for this version. :)

I was testing the previous version, the latest 3.0.2 has some issues that don't agree with my Win10 system but they're reported and hopefully fixed in the next release.

bdubrow has also put up a list of files that should be excluded from security software, if you don't want to exclude the complete folder then use this list below.

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MbamPt.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\assistant.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MBAMWsc.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbamtray.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MBAMService.exe

I'm not using a Windows insider build, I'm still running current stable release 14393, the MBAM 3.0.2 version brings my system to a crawl is my biggest problem.

You can see all issues reported here https://forums.malwarebytes.org/forum/174-malwarebytes-30-beta/
