Running it on 64 bit Vista Bob and as i said works great. ;)

One very important thing they should have mentioned in the article ...

I wouldn't run the Service Pack cleanup tool(compcln.exe) just yet, since it get's rid of the old sp1 system files that were backed up during the install there will be no way to uninstall this beta which is something that you will need to do when the final version get's released. Just a word of caution. ;)

Microsoft Readies Eight New Security Patches

Two of the eight updates will patch Windows, another two are aimed at Office, while the remaining four target Internet Explorer (IE), SharePoint, Windows Media Player, and Visual Basic and Visual Studio,

I don't know why Microsoft is calling the Service Pack cleanup tool a new feature in sp2, It, (or something like it) is in sp1. To run the clean up tool, open an elevated command prompt and type vsp1cln.exe.  This gets rid of the files that sp1 backed up during the install and sp1 can no longer be uninstalled.

As Mikey already mentioned, you'll need these files from SP1 to restore your system once the final release of SP2 comes out.
If you remove these files now, you'll need to do a complete re-install of Vista once the final version of SP2 comes out.

IMHO, unless you have Vista installed on a test computer or, as a virtual system, installing SP2 at this point is useless since it
will need to be un-installed and, you'll loose all programs and/or updates to programs before you can install the final release of SP2.
This is one beta you need to be careful of before you decide to install it on your regular system regardless of how we'll the beta behaves.

Windows 7 build 6956 - Aero Snap

I have it up and running on my test system.
It's a vast improvement over the last build.

Apple's 3D OS X interface unveiled

Guess that means Windows 7 wouldn't be an Apple look alike any more.  ;D

It will not be in the soon to be released "Snow Leopard" (10.6) release, Snow leopard focuses on performance and better use of Multi-core systems as well as making full use of the GPU. Apple often patents their ideas well in advance of any product release, so it could still be a few years before we see this.
