2014 is the year of the Linux desktop

Who knew? Also marks the decline of open source?
Pure nonsense. Including Android and the Chrome OS in the numbers is ludicrous. They are competitors to Linux, not allies. The only things that should be included are Ubuntu, Mint and the myriad other Linux distros which even combined are a miniscule segment of desktop usage. Windows still rules on the desktop and will for the forseeable future. For both work and leisure activities, it still can not be touched.
What? Chrome and Android are both Linux , how can they not be included?
Read the article again, the guy is right in many ways. Large amounts of apps you run on your Windows systems are in fact Linux based.
Look at Paragon and the other rescue systems ...... even avasts Grimefighter ........... they are Linux. Linux rescues millions of Windows systems every day of the year
