I wonder if that will allow you to close some of the unwanted google apps on their branded phones  :P

They also need to do something about it being a resource hog. I have many tabs open and have see 1.6GB of RAM used, whilst I have 4GB on my XP system so it is manageable. But I think that could well be part of the reason for crashes, though I have no definitive proof.

It seems when I get to X number of tabs open it falls over, I do allow a crash report sent to Mozilla, so hopefully they get some useful information.

That however, is a moot point given XP is on the ESR build for now and not long before no support.

Thanks for those links.

Strangely enough the memory used by firefox 54.0.1 (32-bit) on this win10 64bit laptop is much less about 0.5GB and this laptop has more ram 8GB DDR4 and a much faster processor and 256GB SSD primary drive.

I guess the updates they've made to Firefox are really doing the job for you.

Once more thanks for the links.

They certainly have on this win10 laptop, but obviously no change as yet on the ESR 52.0.1 version.

This topic was primarily meant for the Windows OS. :)
Maybe starting a similar topic in the Mac Section would be advisable ???

As far as I can recall, this thread was started before there were any Avast products for the Mac. :)

It's never too late. :)

It is, about Eleven and a half years late ;)

Changing the title as you did works for one post. Changing the title for the topic only works for subsequent post, not the 4726 existing posts.

Right, doing it for future posts is better than nothing, and it's not too late for that. :)
