Mozilla Firefox, the first Chromium alternative in the Windows Store

It amazes me why anyone would go to the Windows Store to get Firefox and not direct to the source. I just wonder the whole point of this and even the point of the windows store (that I avoid like the plague).
One instance in the forums two versions of the same Game and the MS Store one appears to be different from the original, as Avast is seeking to resolve a compatibility issue are still trying to resolve the MS Store version.
Apps downloaded via the store are supposed to be safer and easier to un-install.
That may or may not be the case, but why would they be different from the original source.
