Elon Musk strikes deal to buy Twitter for $44bn
https://www.bbc.com/news/business-61222470

I can't believe sums like this for something that isn't tangible.

How can he possibly recover this sum much less make a profit on it over and above the purchase price is beyond me.
He had stated that this was not about the money.

They you have to wonder why throw around 44 Billion $US
To turn it into what and given this area is constantly evolving with some newer players who no have greater numbers than Twitter.

It just doesn't make sense to me, but then again I have stayed away from all social networking from their inception.
Maybe to open up the platform to everyone just not those that agree with the current "correct philosophy"
It may just restore discussion instead of just pushing one ideology.

I don't know if Elon Musk considered this prior to his bid for Twitter:
I have just read today's newspaper and in the City Finance section it reports "Musk's Twiter takeover wipes £100Bn off Tesla.

In a word WOW.

Musk's move has made him the current day Trump.
When you can't listen to reason, lash out even if it doesn't make sense.

So, how many bots use two factor or multi-factor authentication?

Google gives Europe a ‘reject all’ button for tracking cookies after fines from watchdogs
https://www.theverge.com/2022/4/21/23035289/google-reject-all-cookie-button-eu-privacy-data-laws
https://blog.google/around-the-globe/google-europe/new-cookie-choices-in-europe/

Yes, very interesting, but in the first link there are more cookies, trackers, etc. etc. than you can shake a stick at and NO easy action to OPT OUT.  It gives a link to information.  But all that talks about is how to block cookies in your browser and ZERO easy option to deny on the site.  Which is rather ironic given the subject.

When sites make it difficult or impossible to opt out, I vote with my feet and kick them into touch.

Hi Dave, no issues with the site here, NoScript blocks this stuff. 8)

I have blockers at work also, but I don't know if everything would be blocked (have you actually taken a look at the list of ads/trackers, etc. etc.), I couldn't believe the number and purposes that is associated with this site.  So there is no way I would click 'I Accept' and hope that my settings and blockers work.  It is taking them on trust and currently sites like this I don't trust as far as I can throw them (which isn't going to be very far)

Hi Dave, see screenshot. If I would allow some/all in NS, the list would be probably much longer, but I won't dig deeper, as the site diplays fine (no nags) here. Cheers

For me, it isn't about it displaying fine, it all about trust and the deceptive/underhand way it makes a viewer jump through hoops to try and block cookies/trackers, etc. No simple button/s to disable certain categories of cookie/trackers.

Many users aren't so well set up to block cookies/trackers as we are, but when I see what I consider avoidance I avoid them too.

I don't know if Elon Musk considered this prior to his bid for Twitter:
I have just read today's newspaper and in the City Finance section it reports "Musk's Twiter takeover wipes £100Bn off Tesla.

In a word WOW.

I wish Elon Musk was my brother  ;D

AND..... I strongly wish Avast does business with Elon Musk for GOOD.
