XP gets a new lease on life.
Planning to stick with Windows XP for a while? Microsoft just gave home users a gift of three additional years of support.
For XP Home and Media Center editions, the "extended support" clock continues ticking till 2014, the same as it does for business users.

Two Additional "Official" Windows XP Themes
Subscriber Joe Souza writes, "I recently tried a hack that allowed the use of non Microsoft themes. However, I was really disappointed in the third party themes that I tried and was looking for a new one when I found this unreleased official theme [1] from Microsoft called Royale. I had seen this theme before on computers running Media Center Edition and I really like it. Since then I've also located a black version [2]." Thanks for that, Joe. Royale has been circulating for a couple of years now and to my eyes is quite similar to the standard XP Luna theme but other folks think it's a big improvement. I didn't know about the black version of Royale and this may appeal to those who want a dark theme but don't want to use a third party product.

Now I’ve seen some interesting Firefox themes in my day, but this one surely takes the cake. Mario comes back to life in this theme and the intricate details are sure to leave a warm feeling in the heart of anyone who pounded away at the Nintendo controllers trying to beat King Koopa and his kids.

Ah, those were the days…what am I talking about? I still play these classic games online all the time. They have become so adored that they can be found in seconds by doing a Google search, and let’s not forget to mention the emulators that you can download to play all of your favorite pastime games.

This Firefox theme will simply amaze you with the things they thought to add in. One of my favorite things would have to be the scroll bars which are pipes that look like the tunnels Mario would travel through. Buttons are, of course, the unmovable blocks that we could jump on to help Mario reach his destination and all of the navigation buttons are cleverly skinned.

I give mad props to the person who thought up and actually designed this theme. There is no doubt in my mind that I could leave some of my friends in awe by showing them this…and maybe even get some new Firefox converts!

Microsoft's next-gen operating system is ready to hit stores. Actually, six versions of Microsoft's next-gen OS are ready to hit stores. How big is the Windows Vista buzz? Let's just say that our Vista Ultimate review got more clicks this week than CNET TV's video on high-def porn. That's pretty big. Still, six versions of one OS can cause confusion, so we've got a chart that compares the four major editions of Vista and tells you what you'll get when buying each one. Once you've found the Vista that looks best for you, click its name in the chart to see a full review

For some, the bathroom is the only quiet place in the house, the only place you can get away from it all.  Why not make it a more enjoyable place to be? You can always read, you may even take your laptop along for the ride, but Roto-Rooter has a better idea. They’ve  put together an ultimate bathroom with just about anything you’d ever want, and you have a chance to win it all!  It includes the following improvements:

Philips 20 inch LCD TV and Star Wars DVD
Xbox 360 gaming system
Philips DVD player
Gateway EMachine laptop computer with fully articulated robot arm
iPod with stereo docking station equipped with toilet paper dispenser
Roto-Rooter “emergency” button
TiVo recorder
Avanti refrigerator with beer tap, stocked with drinks and snacks
Magazine rack and subscriptions to Sports Illustrated, ESPN and GQ
Bike pedal exerciser
Cup warmer/cooler
