For all those who use Yahoo:

Yahoo Sign In Seal
This helps to protect you from phishing attempts while using yahoo.
"A sign-in seal is a secret between the computer you set it up on and Yahoo!.
So when you sign in to Yahoo! from this computer, your sign-in seal tells you
that you're seeing a genuine Yahoo! site, not a phishing site."

Here's a sample of what it looks like after the Sign In Seal is set up:

Intel releases details on new 45nm "Silverthorne" Processor

Consumes less than 2W of Power and delivers performance equal to the first Pentium M processors. Also supports Hyperthreading (I was wondering when Intel would bring that back)

Intel wants to see this used in high end Smart Phones and Mobile Internet Devices like the iPhone, Blackberry, etc.

Windows XP Service Pack 3 Release Candidate

I've found this to be very stable.

One great use for this is to update systems that either have no internet access or,
only have dialup access.

I've added this file to a usb drive and use it to update the computers at our Senior Center.
Once this is done, there is currently only one recommended update left at the
windows update site.

DavidR,

Here in the USA many restaurants, coffee shops & libraries have free WIFI, most even allow us to use their electricity.  If you have a laptop you could download SP3 there, I once saw a man bring in his desktop into a restaurant.  You would get a few stares if you brought a desktop into a restaurant! ;D ;D ;D

Not so many wifi points in coffee shops in the UK outside major cities and major coffee shop outlets. it would also be a little difficult carrying my tower PC with my broken wrist ;D

I just wonder if my local library has broadband, much less a PC.

This morning, I updated my laptop which uses Windows Vista to SP1

Although the proccess is lenghty, it went off without a hitch.
It took almost an our to complete.

To be totally fair, when you first start the update process, it does tell you that this could
take over 1 hr to complete.

Yeah

I'm getting ready to do mine as we speak; a friend just grabbed it off MSDN, and I was curious if I should uninstall my avast av first.

I take it you did not?

Before installing, I disabled or paused all my scanning programs which included pausing the standard shield of avast!  :)

Email Trace may work within the US but it does not work correctly outside of the US. I have an email from Mexico City that I traced with NeoTrace back to MC but Email Trace only traced it back to Monterey which is probably where it left Mexico.
