Somebody once said something rather unkind about doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

This a still a beta- if you want extensions, wait for the final.

Beta is to work out bugs. That includes any problems with Add-ons.
It would be nice to start working on this before it becomes final.  :)

That's clearly not Mozilla's policy:

Quote
Extensions installed under Firefox 2 may be incompatible and/or require updates to work with Firefox 3 Beta 1. Please report any issues to the maintainer of the extension. When you install Firefox 3 Beta 1 all of your Extensions and Themes will be disabled until Firefox 3 Beta 1 determines that either a) they are compatible with the Firefox 3 Beta 1 release or b) there are newer versions available that are compatible.

Quote
Poorly designed or incompatible extensions can cause problems with your browser, including make it crash, slow down page display, etc.

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.0b1/releasenotes/#extensions

Trying to test extensions on a beta version of a browser will cause problems: the user will experience problems which neither the user or Mozilla will know the cause of- the extension or the browser- resulting in total confusion in beta bug reports.

It's pretty clear that Mozilla wants most users to test extensions against the final version when extensions will be re-enabled. As Polonus I think pointed out, you can sometimes override the disabling of extensions to test them out with the beta, but there's no expectation that they will work: many extension writers are going to wait for the final version of Firefox 3 and write for and test on that. As DavidR pointed out before:

Quote
Even in the final release there may be extensions that don't work and you may need to hack them about a bit to get them to work.

Sheer stupidity on their part IMHO  ;D

This attitude will only delay the full acceptance of the latest version by many users.

Pure Networks (Wireless Network)  Security Scan

Most online security tests look only at an individual PC, which can leave your wireless network vulnerable. Pure Networks Security Scan, a FREE tool, finds potential wireless network security and Internet security vulnerabilities across your entire network.
(Pure Networks Security Scan requires Internet Explorer 6 or later.)

And how exactly should Mozilla separate bugs caused by incompatible extensions and bugs in the beta itself, if they decide to follow your advice and allow extensions to run on the beta?

Strange
While checking out a new search engine, I came accross the following:

Damien,
Can you shed any further light on this? I believe it's in polish. :)

By the way, the search engine I was testing is called RedZee

I like the clean uncluttered lines of the RedZee search site, but using .swf file (which I block by default) to display a carton pink striped jumping horse is a total waste of bandwidth and shows a lack of consideration for dial-up users.

If not, which question stumped you?

The very first question? "Just how safe are you?"  Safe at what I thought ;) ;D

Easy but a very good test to pass onto new users

I got the same score as you, Bob, with 10 out of 10 correct.

It is an easy test for those of use who are literate at computer security.

As tednelly said, it is a good test for new users and those who are not computer security aware.
