I'm more than willing to buy the Mac Operating System from Apple. It's the hardware that I can't
afford to buy from Mac.
I can buy I cheaper elsewhere !!!! 

But Apple is not willing to sell you the OS because they want the revenue from the OS AND the hardware.

Exactly.    It's called a learning curve and it wasn't liked when XP was first released but we all got used to it.
The same can be said for any one trying another new OS. Until you learn it's intricacies, it will be strange and hard to operate.
Once learned, all the problems and objections seem to disappear.

Bob you seem obsessed with wanting to Run OS X on a non-Apple system. Just like the OS for the Playstation game consoles will not run on any other game console, Apple will not be releasing mac OS for other hardware. I have pointed out articles stating why they will not do it, and explained it countless times here. And Apple is even suing Psystar to protect its OS from being on other hardware. How much clearer can you get? Apple Does not Want its OS on any machine beside their Own! Doesn't matter what a few users want, its their OS and they will sell it as they see fit.

EDIT: to anyone wanting to Run Mac OS on non-Apple hardware: If you want to Run OS X Buy a Mac already!

Interesting article, don't know how much water it will hold, but the reference to if Microsoft were to pull a stroke to stop it being installed on Apple hardware or Virtual systems they would be jumped on from a great height.

Personally the fear that it could bankrupt Apple like the last time they allowed this experiment, doesn't hold much water either as times have changed. Do they really thing that their hardware is so weak that it the OS wasn't tied to it no one would buy it, but buy a cheap "beige box PC."

There is not only the potential for huge sales of the OS but all the associated software as well, and some who have tried the OS and bought other software may then cross the floor and buy an iMac as they would be able to have taken a slow journey as far as expense goes they haven't had to but everything in one hit.

Think of it this way then. People are impressed with the OS enough to want to run it on PC hardware because it runs so well. If it was allowed to actually run on everything, then Apple would have to support everything like Microsoft does. One of the reasons Apple can make such a great OS is they do not have to spend time making sure it is compatible with everything, they just focus on making it run well on a very limited set of hardware and then spend their efforts on improving the OS.

That statement just doesn't hold water. There would be many outside companies who would be very happy to write the
required software and drivers needed to support other hardware.
It might even open up a whole new division for Apple.
Stop being afraid of progress. 

Remember that the statement "This will never happen" is being extremely negative toward progress and a whole new
opportunity for Apple.

And thats part of the Windows OS's Problem, 3rd party providers of drivers for nearly everything and no way to do Quality Control of all the 3rd party drivers. With the Core hardware and drivers all supplied by Apple, you have a stable system and the only 3rd party involvement needed is for add on devices.

Thats what makes the two systems different and its what the Mac users like about the OS. We like the closed environment and dont want it open like windows.

Linux has thousands upon thousands of developers due to its fully open source nature. No Microsoft doesn't support its OEM versions and look what kind of shape the Windows OS is in. What people dont understand here is that Apple's software has the great qualities it does BECAUSE IT IS A CLOSED SYSTEM!!  Why cant you understand that??!?!?!!?!?

Each product has its merit and demerit...I gave up with Apple since I like tinkering PCs with my own hands.  Jobs may think his product perfect but I like some characters, too.  Then again, since I am not determined to be against Apple, I may buy iPod or iPhone in the future, who knows?  I'd rather enjoy variety than volunteering flag-bearers of their marketing.  I think I've paid enough to the makers for their advertisements.    Well, about this, Linux may have a point, though.
