Be careful of what you download from MyBloop because malware purveyors love Free sites to deposit their excrement.

This holds true for virtually any server. You should always know what your downloading and check your results carefully.

For those of us who post lots of pictures, etc. this gives us unlimited free storage.  :)

DpPhoto.com now better than ever.
The slide show feature found in the top toolbar on the right,
makes for a stunning display. :)

The DPHOTO Gallery has been refined even further, with a multitude of design and usability improvements
to make viewing your photos even faster, easier, and more enjoyable. The Gallery now features grid view
for viewing a whole album at once, scroll bars for quickly moving through large albums, image preloading
for noticeably faster loading of photos, larger thumbnails, extra customisation options and much, much more

I've just received the following notice from dphoto.com :
Quote
"Prior to December 2007, DPHOTO offered a Free account without time restrictions.
However, due to the costs involved in the hosting, storage and backup of photos, we are no longer able to maintain these Free accounts.
We have now placed an expiry date on all Free accounts, including yours. Removing Free accounts will enable us to provide an even faster,
higher quality service to our Lite and Pro account holders"

Your DPHOTO account will expire in 30 days, on December 20, 2008

I've sent them the following reply:

Sounds like the usual "Bait and Switch" to me.
Offer something free just to get a data base of potential customers later
once the carrot is withdrawn.

There are enough FREE paces left on the net to not have to fall for this.
I'll be sure to inform all of my followers to move their stored photos to one of
the Free sites.

Sincerely,
bob3160

P.S.
A simple Google search will reveal a fairly substantial following.

Unfortunately, we can expect more of these types of cancellations due to the changing economy.
Since there are still many free places to store and share your pictures, I suggest that you simple move what you
currently have stored at dpphoto to either Google or Photobucket or any of the other services.

Click on the picture for a demonstration.

Let me Google that for you
When you enter this Web site you can type whatever question you wish into the search box
then click search. What this will do is give you a link that, when clicked, will play a short
animation of a cursor on a Google page moving to the search box then typing out whatever question
you typed before redirecting to an actual Google search of that question.
You send this link to whoever asked the question.

This is very useful for many of the questions we are asked on this forum. :)
There is nothing smarter than using smart tools.  ;)

Judge orders Ballmer to testify in 'Vista capable' case

The Price of Being Microsoft

Mac OS X targeted by Trojan and backdoor tool

The price of fame.  :'(

Hmm ZDNet as always blowing things out of proportion. These are variants on a previous trojan that got lots of media attention but never materialized into anything.

Malware for windows - Hundreds of thousands
Malware for Mac OS X - less than 50

By the way look at how many pieces of malware for windows were added to avast's Database this past Saturday (11/22/08). Its more added in one day than exist in total on the Mac :o

I hold no candle for Microsoft, but I can't see the problem here a computer that is said to be Vista capable and is capable of running Vista Basic, is per say capable of running Vista.

I don't think that there have been many sales of Vista that haven't been pre-installed on new systems. My new system came with one Sticker on it, that of my Windows XP Professional Certificate of Authenticity and is well capable of running Vista, but no thanks ;D

What I'm getting at is it is the System Manufactures that are putting the Vista Capable stickers on 'their' systems and not MS. They aren't stupid, they know the system requirements for Vista all bells and whistles editions ???

What I'm getting at is it is the System Manufactures that are putting the Vista Capable stickers on 'their' systems and not MS. They aren't stupid, they know the system requirements for Vista all bells and whistles editions ???

However when a machine mets the requirements for Mac OS X or Linux it will run the bells and whistles edition. When Apple Says a machine will run OS 10.5 they mean it will run it all and it will run it well. The machines labeled Vista Capable would only run a stripped down version of the OS and in some cases did not even run that very well due to lack of RAM. So indeed their is a lawsuit against them.

As far as it being the PC makers who are putting the sticker on, well MS should have monitored that better. Thats one advantage of the hardware and OS being made by one company, when Apple says it will run that version of the OS you know it will. The hardware vendors are at fault too but since its MS OS they should have been watching what got that sticker.
