trc1.emv2.com is in my HOSTS file as a spam site.
Maybe it's time to change your host file.   ??? ??? ???

Maybe get McAfee SiteAdvisor to get it to change its rating as well?

I posted the link back to Joost which was listed inside the email I received.
I subscribed to that email. It's not spam.
I've changed the link under the picture to go directly to Joost.com.

McAfee does give the site you quoted a GREEN check.
Some personal reviews claim to have received spam.  I never have.

Rdmaloyjr, please refrain from posting pirated content on these forums. You can not run mac os x on a pc without a pirated and hacked/reverse-engineered copy of the OS.

Ive seen enough of this, im pretty sure ALWIL does not allow links to pirated materials on their site.

Download the Kalyway 10.5.2 ISO from your favorite torrent site and burn it on a DVD.

How can this not be pirating?

Mac
Your right, my thread doesn't discuss using pirated OS simply using OSX on a non "Mac" system.

.: Mac :.,

Please get a grip on yourself! ::)

The title of this thread is "Interesting Software & System News", I only posted a link to a news article.  I'm on topic.  Take your sour grapes to The Register.

Please note the date of the article, October 2008.  It is now December 2008.  Old news.

You remind me of an ostrich with it's head in the ground.  If I didn't post this would it not of happened?  Read the thread Bob posted, people have run osx on pc's with Intel & AMD.  That thread said osx runs faster on pc's than Macs, probably because the stuff meant to keep it from running on pc's slow down Macs.
I thought that Apple's motto is: THINK DIFFERENT !

Well, I strongly believe this is the right time to think different.

And Kyle... why are you worried so much dude ? Such a good technician as yourself will never ever stay without a job. Selling OSX to PC users doesn't mean Apple is going down, it just means, Apple's market will even grow. Many Apple users will never ever switch to PC no matter what happens, but this would help a lot of people to check some other possibilities out there. I am sure this would just help Apple make even more money.

I believe that all this OSX to PC story is already so deep that's practically impossible to stop it at this point. It even runs faster on PCs than on Apple architecture. Take a look at this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvlvWL3B6qM (PC booting to OSX86 faster than OSX on a Mac)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2tAhXHPfBs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncLovswd6aE (I actually tried it on my laptop and it works flawlessly)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SpV0uHylN8&mode=related&search= (OSX86 10.4.6 on my machine again)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziKIq6Eulw0&mode=related&search=
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gh5c6G1H4dE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnUW88-aTSA

And who said just Intel is capable of running OSX ? Well, he is wrong:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YWAP-zPMcE&mode=related&search=

Few OSX86 resources:

http://www.osx86project.org
http://www.nedprod.com/Niall_stuff/MacOS%20X/index.html

Yeah i even noticed some people are running pirated OSX on AMD processors. So much for "incompatibility" ...

Bob's thread mentions hacking to get osx working on pc's.  Give me a break. ::)

I suppose if they hack the check for the TMP chip (not sure if TMP is correct but the chip OSX looks for to find an apple system), then in theory if you remove that check it should install (or hack it to return True). Or is that to simplistic.

Bob did not link to a article that instructs users to download a copy of the OS X install DVD from "your favorite torrent website", He simply brought up that it was possible to run OS X on a non-apple system. We may have had our quibbles over the whole Mac OS on PC hardware here before but you are the first linking to a article that says to torrent the Install DVD!

I will take my gripes to the register, but I also think its inappropriate to post articles here (or anywhere else) that contain instructions for software piracy.

There's a big difference between posting a link to a news article and posting a link to a covert hacking/software site.  If I didn't bring this article to anyones attention then how could you bring your gripes to The Register?  Do you not think that someone at Apple is not aware of this article?  It's been two months now.  How many do you suppose did this to run osx on a pc in the two months before I posted this link?

I guess Apple doesn't know people are using osx on pc's. ::)

You haven't addressed what I said about maybe the reason osx runs faster on pc's than Macs because the stuff that Apple uses to try to keep osx from running on pc's.  ???
