Avast Safe Zone wont start; error message
« on: December 06, 2016, 09:09:14 AM »
Hi, I cant see this topic anywhere and would appreciate any help.
I have been useing avast safe zone browser for more than a year and have all my bookmarks saved on it
however today, I am getting the message "Cant open userprofile directory because you lack sufficiant priveleges. Try contacting the administrator of this machine"  I am the administrator! and nothing has changed that I can see since last night when I was using it fine.
the only thing I am aware of is my cleanup license is due to expire tomorrow, but that shouldnt affect this.

Any suggestions? its rather annoying I cant access all my bookmarks

Repair Avast:
1. Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs -> Avast
2. Click on 'Repair'.
3. Follow instructions.
4. Reboot.

Many thanks, Asyn, that seems to have solved the problem :)
However I am left feeling that I don't really trust this browser, and I put in a support ticket to Avast 2 days ago and had not reply, I would like to export my bookmarks somewhere else as a backup, but the import options on Chrome or edge dont include this browser, I know it is a form of Chrome but it doesnt pick up on these book marks; I think I would have to somehow save them as a file and then upload them, any ideas how I could do that?

many thanks again :)
