Network Issues
« on: December 06, 2016, 06:21:13 PM »
1) When I did a smart scan there were no viruses but network scan filed and said something to the affect of "your DNS servers connected to your network are infected"

I also noticed that when i connected to London in secure line (paid version) google was in dutchland

I then disabled and re enabled the VPN and it correctly went into a UK location

I re scanned my network with avast and now it says everything is fine

I am SUPER paranoid about security especially network/router type stuff so how can i be sure my system and router etc are clean?

I cannot even go back to see the results of the failed scan because the scan results says "no virus found" even though the first time there WERE network issues and i cannot click on it for further details

Check router here, with VPN off > https://campaigns.f-secure.com/router-checker/en_global/

The first time i did the scan which only took one second it came back clear

I did it a couple more times after that and it say "Everything appears to be fine, but the check was incomplete"

I always use the UK location and that is the default but for some reason when i rebooted my computer and connected to the VPN it connected to the dutch land server

If i recall correctly before i started using the VPN i used to have some text in the Avast main window below "You are protected"  " Firewall is active" "everything is up to date" saying "DNS server contently correctly" or something to take effect but now it only says the first three things and never anything about my DNS status...

I then rebooted my router and computer and checked again. Now its says "secure DNS cannot run on this network and stays like this even after connecting to sceure line

I checked in secureline and it said i was connected to London buy again google and what is my IP website said i was in Frankfurt DE

I advise you to use your system as you would normally do as there is no indication of any problem.

1) If everything is fine how come i got that rather dangerous results from network scanning regarding my DNS settings have been hacked

2) How come my secure line would re-direct me to dutch land/DE even though my default location is the UK?

Thanks

Seems to me there really are no problems now.

Sorry if i sound rude but could i get a more detailed response?

Are you saying that the Network Scan results was false positive?

Any the re-directing just a glitch?

Thanks for the help
