Refund
« on: December 29, 2016, 08:21:44 PM »
I recently got charged for a service that I no longer use, I never signed up for the charge to be renewed so it came as a shock to me when my bank account had been overdrawn due to a renewal charge for the service. Since I no longer use this Avast service I was wondering when I could get a refund and how long it would take?

Auto renew is normally on by default, so if you didn't disable it see that then it would happen automatically. That said you should have got an email notification around a month before that it was going to be renewed.

I don't recall getting that email, since I no longer use the service will a refund still be possible? Otherwise I'll be paying for something I won't use.

As you have submitted a ticket, have some patience.
Only avast can tell if you entitled for a refund or not.

Refund requests are valid within 30 days, so provided you are within that you should be OK.

I don't see where you have submitted a support ticket (as Eddy suggests). If you have then post the support ticket ID here and we will try to attract attention to it. If you haven't submitted a ticket, then use the link I gave earlier to submit it.

The ticket number is #648685, I'm not sure if I posted it in the right place. If not let me know!

Ordinarily I would say that it should be in the same forum of the product you have purchased/been renewed, but that I don't think is critical.

When did you submit this ticket ?
Given the time of year it might take a little longer than normal.

It's only been a day, so hopefully I get something soon. The charge I got from this renewal has caused countless fees from the bank and they're scheduled to issue another one the 3rd.

I have reported this, but a bank transaction, even if they acted on it immediately (like tomorrow) it could take 5 days for the cleared funds to be in your account.

That's fine, as long as I receive a refund. Hopefully then I'd be able to clear everything else up.

Ok cool! How long (roughly) should I expect to see that processing in my bank account?

As I mentioned it takes time before you see it as cleared funds in your bank, that I believe is down to the banks clearance time.
