Cosmetic GUI issues.

This has been reported extensively by RejZoR in https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=194886.0, with a link to his video of the UI Notification issue.

I wonder if tech in avast! will remain and in what order proactive technologies will be applied.

Signatures -> DeepScreen -> Software Analyzer -> if still nothing detected and file unknown to avast! -> CyberCapture

I assume the most efficient method would be for proactive features to help generate signatures...

Signatures -> DeepScreen -> Software Analyzer

If any of the local technologies detects malware proactively, I assume data will be sent back to avast! Virus Lab in order to generate a fixed signature for the proactive detection to further expand Evo-Gen detections (and all the trickery they are doing in the cloud). How is with this? Am I predicting the order correctly?

I wonder how much of the meta data obtained from the deepscreen and other technologies are actually utilized to improve intel as avast! seems to have improved. For example some varients of ransom malware are being picked up now while other av's are failing.

And this new cerber one is also on our radar:

I am not sure if its just me who is seeing this.

Shut down the pc but the fans have revolved. Delete or return the stabil version. I do not know that to do with it. I have been re-installed the machines.

First impression is good.  Here's some thoughts:

1.  I had an uninstall bug in 12.3.3154 that left behind a hidden directory, which was a bugger to remove -- Had to boot to DOS and use DELTREE (ticket submitted with details).  I've tried an install and uninstall of this beta, and it works fine.   :)

2.  The GUI seems to big and can't be re-sized in typical Windows fashion.

3.  Colors aren't much of a concern to me, but maybe it would look more business like without the purple accents, just stick with Orange?

4.  The notification "bell" in the upper right corner stays red even after dismissing the notifications, but it went away after a reboot.

4.  After a Smart Scan the GUI shows the performance issues details with a sideways wipe.  The horizontal arrow in the upper right corner is confusing -- Suggest using the traditional [X] to close.

5.  The separate window for settings seems a bit awkward.  By opening "subscription information" from the tray icon, then opening the main Avast interface, then clicking on settings in the lower left -- I had 3 windows open and could not go to the main GUI without closing the last settings window, but could get to the first settings window opened via the tray icon.  This is not a big deal, but it seems like it would be better with a single window with tabs/menus of "status", "protection", "performance", "settings" across the top.

6.  Clicking on the ? of the main GUI brings up the help window, but the help window's menu disappears before one can click on any of the choices.

No crashes or weird behavior noticed, but I'll keep trying...

I suggest you try a repair. If that doesn't work, do a clean install.

Repair Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed
https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB204
If Repair doesn't fix the problem, try the following:
Clean Install of Avast:

No problems here with selecting the items in the help menu. :)

In my humble, ignorant opinion; this new release of Avast is far away from being ready. It would be better if it takes a little longer to the final release, to make sure that all the bugs are fixed and the GUI is optimal. I think we, Avast users, will be very grateful.

Hope nobody gets offended.

Screenshot
Run a repair, after that another error appeared. The fix button in the UI again didn't work. Then i run a second repair but the error was still here. Restarted and it was gone.

New error

EDIT: The "restore settings" popup is empty and does not contain the checkboxes to select which settings to restore. Clicking continue says that the settings were restored but they were not. Don't know if it's already known.

After an install, you should always do a reboot.
