What BHO list do you use?
« on: February 22, 2006, 10:54:27 PM »
Hi forum folks,

BHO's, browser helper objects, can be good and can be bad.
They can be looked up from BHO lists, like this good one:

I am curious what list  you use?

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

The ones included into the antispyware and antitrojan applications. The ones marked as good are good, the other, the bad guys  ;D

This one is my favorite:
http://castlecops.com/CLSID.html

It's done by the CLSID, so for a line like this:

O2 - BHO: Yahoo! Toolbar Helper - {02478D38-C3F9-4EFB-9B51-7695ECA05670} - C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Companion\Installs\cpn\yt.dll

You would copy and paste this:

02478D38-C3F9-4EFB-9B51-7695ECA05670

into the search bar and hit the "Search" button.  (Notice it is done without the brackets.)
