AfB + licence file
« on: January 15, 2017, 07:15:29 PM »
Hi,

I'm a reseller and for our customers we would like to start using Avast For Business (first one on this account)
However we get a licence file, and if I install the trial version(using same email as when purchased) I get redirected automatically to the shop, but not a possibility to upload the licence file.

How can i activate?

The license is for you/your company, not for your customers.

your customers need to get their own license, either buy it from you/your company or somewhere else.

Not sure if i get it and/or I explained wrong -I made a sale in their name - the end customer (i just manage their protection, not or own).
Then i want to setup their environment, so how do I activate their AfB?

(like I did with endpoint protection

You can't have done that as you are selling licenses and not them.

If you are (as you say) a reseller, you sell a license to your customers.
It is up to them to install things and apply the license to the software they have bought the license for (and setup things like they want).

I was unclear, so as a reseller I just made a sale. I filled in their info and got a licence file for X users for AfB.

But:
It is up to them to install things and apply the license to the software they have bought the license for (and setup things like they want).

That's also me, we provide that service so they don't need to worry about that.

But how is it activated/imported?

So you are selling something and you don't have a clue about it :(

That is like a car dealer who doesn't even know how to open the door of a car.

There is a reason why avast has manuals and FAQ pages.

Well, I had zero problems with EndPoint Protection activation, was  straightforward so figured the cloudversion would be the same.
I did search the FAQ etc but couldn't find anything.

I don't mind reading/researching, but it sounds like I'm missing something so laughably simple.

My apologies; but does anybody mind pointing me in the right direction (more than the general info& faq for example)?

Contacted support, issue resolved.

If any reseller is interested - No way licence file can be uploaded / cannot use trial account, press 'Continue to Avast for Business' button in confirmation mail to use cloud.
