Unable to contact lost phone
« on: January 16, 2017, 11:19:11 PM »
I've lost my phone today and I'm unable to send any locate or lock commands via avast anti-theft, seemingly because I didn't have mobile data enabled. I get the message "we are unable to connect to your device". The phone was switched on though and should have a decent amount of battery left. I've tried sending SMS commands from a friend's mobile, but nothing happens and they don't show up in the 'commands' part of the web interface. Is there anything else I can do? I'm guessing time is of the essence before the battery dies.

Only thing you can do is keep trying.

Depending on the brand/version of the phone, the manufacturer might have a website to locate it.

Some mobile service providers can/may be willing to help - a phone can easily be triangulated while being used on a network via its IMEI, contact your service provider (not manufacturer)

Although that is possible, in most countries phone providers are not allowed to do so without the police asking them and/or a court ruling.
