New Computer and Avast Passwords
« on: January 18, 2017, 08:56:10 PM »
Hi, I'm a long time Avast user and I recently did a clean and fresh install of windows 10 and avast.

Before I did this I saved all my passwords and exported them to a CSV file on a usb drive.  I pulled the file off the drive and Avast doesn't recognize it for any importation purposes?

Where do I go to put all my passwords back in?  I don't remember these passwords off the top of my head.

I don't use the Avast Passwords function on my systems so I can't be a great deal of practical help. But I believe you should be able to synchronise your passwords between systems with it installed.

If you are using the Avast Passwords function within avast or the stand alone product, I would suggest browsing the Avast Passwords sub-forum. It may have already been discussed there or you can ask there.

Are you telling me to post the problem there?

It doesn't seem I have access to the .csv file regardless and I've tried the synchronization and it didn't seem to do anything either.

Looking at the settings, I see an export to a CSV file but don't see a function to import from a CSV file ???
I'm reporting this to Avast. Let's hope it helps.

Hi,

there is "Sync & Backup" functionality for situations like this. If you turned on this feature before reinstall, you simply turn it on and log in with your Avast Account and all of your passwords will be synchronized back to your computer.

'Export to CSV' feature is meant for importing passwords in other programs.

How do you turn it on ??? Screenshot would be very helpful. Thanks
