Did Avast caused this

So for about a week i keep getting these random errors in event viewer named Event Id 55  ntfs error, to wich when i restart i get automatic check disk and sometimes it reports in a windows balloon notification that CCC.exe is corrupted . Now i haven't installed anything new on this system for a while. Check disk reported no bad sectors and to be safe i formatted and reinstalled windows and after a day it happened again and i was wondering if Avast could be the culprit.

ccc.exe is the Catalyst Control Center and has nothing to do with avast.
Check if there are newer drivers for your system and if so, install them.

CCC.exe is the Catalyst Control Centre for ATI graphics, your graphics drivers might need updating.

I posted and guess what...
I got a message that says newer drivers are available for the ATI card.
