You can't as it is technically not possible to do so with software.

No, older versions didn't supported it.

What part of "it is technically not possible" is it you do not understand ?

Give me your phone and I will factory reset it.
Only thing I have to do is flashing the rom and there is nothing that can prevent it. (unless the phone is broken).

Poku is CORRECT -

older versions did support it,  and it DID work (I have an older Motorola Photon on which Avast will survive a factory reset to this day)

A full ROM flash it may not,  but this is not the question here.

Avast used to install itself in the boot partition for ROOTED phones,  this option was displayed ONLY on ROOTED phones.

Eddy,  get your act together and stop being rude to newbies. ...

Stop giving wrong information.
Flashing the rom with the manufacturers software = factory reset

As I said, unless the phone is broken, nothing can prevent that.

No, factory reset means to open Apps > Settings > Backup and reset > Factory data reset, it can do every fool very fast on street.
But flashing the rom with the manufacturers software means:
1) You must know how to flash Android phones
2) You must download new ROM image and know which ROM image you need (It isnt easy if you dont know anything about the phone, only you can see it)
3) You must have computer with flashing software and special driver for flashing.

It isnt same.

Fact remains, that you can't prevent it.

Most probably this will only work in rooted phones.
And in rooted phones, via recovery, you can whatever with Avast AntiTheft.
Shortly, Android operational system cannot provide hard reset protection.
But maybe I'm wrong. I'm not an expert on Android.

Hi guys,
in recent version of Anti-Theft (I mean Anti-Theft 4.x and newer, that's in the market for almost 1 year) we don't support features for rooted phones because of simple reason. Amount of users in our userbase with rooted phones is now much less than 1% and we rather started to focus on features that matter. So unfortunately we cannot provide more support here.

In older version (on rooted phones), we used to support also other interesting features, like prevent USB debugging. However, with every new android version it's harder and harder to get phone rooted and less and less users are doing that.

Don't want to fight with you, Eddie, but you still have to learn more details of what is flashing. "Flashing" is also used very generically here, there are differences of tools and memory segments that are reprogrammed depending of the flash "image". But, for short, flashing is not equivalent to a factory reset, and not everyone knows how to do it.
