We're faced with a problem about Web Shield. We sometimes cannot open the websites until it turns down, like the famous Sina. Once we found the Firewall suspicious, the websites can't be opened still when closed. Web shield, however, is off the way in Firewall. On this occasion, it's amazing that we should reopen them.

UI is still ridiculously slow, considering how fast my PC is, I don't even want to imagine what it's like on something slower.

And why is there still the demented shredder icon. If I wanted to have a UI with half the items not working and popping up "buy our great xxx to use this shitty option yyy" all over the place, I would be using the free version, I sure don't want to have something like this in a paid product.

Have you disabled the ad popups available only in the paid versions ?
AvastUI > Settings > General > Popups - uncheck 'Show popup offers for other avast products.'

I'm talking about the shredder, which is a premium function that shouldn't be hogging space in AIS UI since it can't be used anyway. The "pop up" thing was an exaggeration, though if you click on it, it's basically the same, just without the literal "pop up".

I'm with you on this. When you already pay for a product, it should not advertise other products as you have already paid and decided.

I also had a word with the Avast team regarding the Data Shredder being shown in Privacy section of Internet Security.

In simple terms, it's an upsell feature to upgrade to Premier. The data shredder isn't installed and it won't be part of the custom install option since it's not included in Internet Security.

This will remain as it is now although not ideal for some including myself. You can NOT remove it from Privacy tab if using Internet Security.

The only thing that such "upsell" feature does for me, is to NOT WANT TO PAY for the product once my subscription runs out. First it was the Chrome forcefeed fiasco, then SafeZone browser and now this... sigh
