Video downloader button no longer appears in YouTube
« on: February 04, 2017, 06:18:05 AM »
The video downloader worked fine a week ago, but now there's no video download button displayed in YouTube.
I executed "repair" for Avast in Add/Remove programs, didn't help.
I then uninstalled/reinstalled Avast.  Didn't help.

I noticed before I tried the above steps, there was some sort of video-related plug-in listed in browser://plugins in SafeBrowser, but now it's gone. Sorry, I didn't write down the name, it was something like "wd  vine . dll", and was related to videos. However, the malfunction occurred even when this plugin was present.  (I assume the video downloader is installed with the SafeBrowser component, and not with the SafePrice browser extension, which I did not install on the re-install).

Windows 7.
Using free version of Avast.

Sorry for problems

The problem has been fixed. You will get update a few minutes after browser start or every 6 hours when browser is running.

Please reply to this message if you still have these issues. Thanks

Try our new Avast version which includes new version of SZBrowser: https://forum.avast.com/?topic=196445.0

Solved?

Thank you, Ondrejz. Installing the new Avast program version solved the problem (https://forum.avast.com/?topic=196445.0). The video downloader icon in YouTube is back! (Updating the SafeZone browser only didn't seem to help in my case.)

Thanks again!
