Hi all testers,

thank you for your feedback from the last beta build! We fixed a few bugs and this is the last beta refresh before the final release. It is the release candidate.

What's new:

 - Fixed boot time scan UI flow
 - Fixed Rescue disk issues on Windows 8 and higher
 - Component settings screen changed to fit low resolution displays
 - Fixes of the notification center (more are comming later via UI update channel)
 - Fixes in translations

Download links:

https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=179943.0

Known issues:

- Avast account is turned off. Will be enabled later via UI update channel
- Few texts are missing its translations

Waiting for the new release with great expectation!

Just a question: If the Avast account will be turned off, does it mean that I will lose all the passwords I saved in the Password Manager?

How can you be OK with releasing this while the firewall blocks OpenVPN based connections ?

Still getting this error in the system log:
Quote
The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
aswbidsh
aswbuniv
The GUI gives no indication that the "behavior shield" isn't working correctly.  Uninstalling the "behavior shield" eliminates the above error messages.  What are these drivers are for?

Began a "smart scan" and minimized the GUI.  A small window pops up with the scan progress.  At 98% it says "scan canceled", but it looks complete in the GUI.

Clicking on the bell icon, the smart scan previously completed is listed -- But clicking on "details" starts a new "smart scan" rather than displaying the results from the last scan (as it did in prior versions).

On my machine, the load time for the GUI is 3 seconds.  Seems a bit slow to me, but not really a problem.

Thanks for the update. Still got this... Is it really going to happen with each monthly release?
Also right click Update still loads main UI. Not a known issue?

No it won't show after each monthly release.
Showing main UI when updating is a known bug, will be fixed in next release in March.

If 17.1.2286  is a BETA version then it is being broadcast to non beta users.  Just got notification on both my computers and no never been a beta user, never downloaded a beta., never installed a beta.

Yes, I saw that as well. Avast is telling me to upgrade, but all I see here on the forum is 17.1.2286 is still a BETA release. And I am not on the BETA program. .. Please correct this before I update. Thank you

Thank you for the new version :)

- Avast account is turned off. Will be enabled later via UI update channel
What is needed to confirm there is an "UI update" via its channel?
Machine reboot? Just reopen AvastUI is enough?

After upgrade via GUI to 17.1.2286 and restart, and waiting for another 5-6 minutes for that AvLauncher program and Settings backup to do their work, they have quit but the Identity protection service still doesn't show up, only the Avast Antivirus and the Avast Service. The GUI shows behavior shield as enabled and it was enabled also in previous beta. Have the service and the ID protection modules been integrates or it just doesn't start after upgrade?
