Are you using any other security software by any chance? Can you now get into Windows or still unable to?

I am having the same problem as "scratsh". Avast updated and when my computer restarted it got stuck in a boot loop at the
welcome screen. I went into safe mode and removed Avast and the problem went away. When Avast was reinstalled the boot
loop returned. I have uninstalled Avast and temporarily installed AVG until I can get this problem resolved. The is a windows 7
64bit machine. Avast was the only anti-virus/firewall installed. Does anybody have any ideas?

Where is the safezone browser in the new GUI? I can't find it after this new update!

I would be happy if someone could help.

What about going back to the old Avast User Tray Icon ? ?  This new one looks terrible.

Terrible? Amoeba is cute! ;D This is the new theme now and they are not going to change it. You can enable animation if you want which makes amoeba morph slowly into sphere and back as avast! is scanning files to display activity.

I like it better than the old rotating avast icon as that never really gave a good representation when rotating.

I tried to install the new Avast version via the previous version GUI and a clean install of the new version, but both failed. I followed the usual suggestions such as uninstalling, reinstalling, running avastclean.exe, and rebooting between attempts, but all I get for a GUI with the new version is a big white box. Fortunately, I have an image backup from a few days ago, so I was able to restore the previous version of Avast. Also, the lack of an indicator showing the installation progress, or even whether or not the software installation is completed, was frustrating. Is it installed, or not? No way of really knowing for sure. A very disappointing experience. I was going to recommend this software to my clients, but thank goodness I did not. What a fiasco that would have been.

Hi Avast Team, I just updated to this version and have a problem. Now when I browse with SafeZone and activate "Bank Mode", I lose about 12 mm along the bottom of the screen, above the task bar, when running any application maximized, including SafeZone.  Please note that the desktop itself is not affected. To correct the problem the system must be rebooted. My OS is WinXP-SP3 (fully updated). Please email me if you require additional details. TIA

Odd how some people are having issues when most are not. My Toshiba Laptop with Win 10 Home 64 Bit and my Dell Dimension 8200 P4 running XP PRO both updated just fine. But, I make it a habit to download the Full Off Line Installer and then carefully select what I want and do not want (like Chrome) installed. Takes a few minutes longer, but I think it is the better way to do it.

Hello avast! team and the rest of the people at the forums.

Been a lurker around here for a while but I really had to make an account to say that everything is fine since the update (from the latest stable build). I was kinda worried to proceed with it since there's quite a few threads relating problems (BSOD's and such) but I still went throught it with the update via GUI and so far, everything seems okay apart from the GUI being a bit slow to load.. Which I don't know if it's a general problem because my computer doesn't have the best specs and it's little old.

So keep up the good job and I'll probably start being more active around the community from now on. :)
