How to install:

1. Update from your existing Avast version via Settings -> Update -> Update program

After clicking on settings there is no Update section anywhere to be found.
Where exactly is it?
I even clicked on show advanced settings and still no Update section.

Hi

I would like to report 2 potential bugs

1. For some weird reason, the new version of Avast kept changing the power plan on my laptop to "High Performance" when I only wanted it as "Power Saver".  and it displays this weird message when I click the battery button

http://i.imgur.com/OsyBIas.png

2. For some reason every time I load up firefox and when it's the main window open my cursor is displaying that someone is loading.

I used system restore to revert to the previous version of Avast. None of those problem showed up.

Re: Avast 17.1.2286 - Issue when restoring settings
« Reply #137 on: February 09, 2017, 07:17:59 AM »
The new version of Avast upgraded seemingly flawless on my computer (Win7 Pro SP1 & CRP), but I found an issue with the restore settings dialog:

When opening a .avastconfig-file created with Avast 17, the following dialog window doesn't show me components to select/deselect. Choosing Continue does not apply the saved settings.

This doesn't happen when selecting a .avastconfig-file created with a prior version of Avast.

As a workaround, I can open such an old file, click Abort, and then select a file created with Avast 17 (without closing the UI window in between) to get the dialog working properly.
Thanks for the workaround..!! :)

On Windows 10 the New Avast(17.1.2286) Settings are sometimes inaccessible as they are at the bottom left and it is necessary to hide the taskbar to access them. There seems to be no option to reduce the Avast  window.
Hi, you can resize the settings window.

Sorry for the double post but this is the place to report bugs right? I wanted to make sure.

Also, I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x64-bit, no Service Pack

First thing to do, update your W7..!!!

I had PC hardware issues a while back, after I fixed them, I tried installing the service pack, it wouldn't let me do it. I'm perfectly fine with MY OS not having an SP

No, without the service pack your OS is incomplete! You should do, what Asyn wrote!

Even without the service Pack my Avast runs fine, even with the 2017 Versions Bugs.

Sorry but I'd rather not attempt to break my system trying to install sp1

I have two news regarding UI.
First... UI in lower resolutions should be OK from 17.2. UI won't be bigger than your desktop, so you will see everything, but it won't be resizable by user, it will decide automatically.
Second... non working UI in some cases (seen reported here few times). We improved library responsible for downloading UI packages, so when your files will look damaged/not up to date, they will be downloaded again.

Where is the safezone browser in the new GUI? I can't find it after this new update!

I would be happy if someone could help.

Executing safezone browser is not in GUI. To start default mode of safezone browser, you can use desktop icon, switching to bank mode is done automaticaly for bank sites, or you can do it by the help of "Turn Bank Mode On" icon from default mode. Additionally there is an tray-icon menu, where you can "Run Bank Mode" directly.
