A new update has been released today (build 17.1.3394.42)

I would like to ask the Avast Team: Is it possible to let us know what are the changes in every new build? In the surface, I can't find any. Thanks!

Did you get the ".42" updated build through the auto-update?  I'm not seeing it.
No it will eventually happen via the emergency updater process.
If you're in a hurry run the following: C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\AvEmUpdate.exe
Wait a few minutes since it runs in the background and requires a few minutes to complete.
Reboot your system and check your version after the reboot.

Mr. Hun_Bolt, what happens when a threat is detected but not "known", i mean for example if we have an IDP.ARES.Generic detection? Because i have noticed a JavaScript dropper which continued to connect and try to download a malicious file in the background although the Avast popup about possible dangerous behavior had already showed. I think that the default "block (or it was quarantine) only known threats" is not the best, because if a user goes to drink water and waits for something to download and has clicked the Chrome option "open after download" he wouldn't be there to click the "Fix automatically" popup ASAP and the threat will continue it's work.

Well, in my case, it updated automatically, with no intervention from me.

I still see at least some issues: No access to the Avast account yet. In my case, Avast takes a longer time to load in comparison to the former version. The same with the UI, a bit slow to load. And sometimes, I have to activate the firewall manually.

This is what I mean when I say that I can't see any change, in spite of the updates.
DELL Optiplex 790, Intel Core i5, 16GB RAM, Windows 10 Pro 64 Bits, Avast Free.

In the newly added "Mobile offerings" in the Avast UI, the scroll doesn't work unless first clicking inside the scroll area. The same can be said for the things that show on hover (Android/iOS versions).

I'm sorry, my mistake. I meant scrolling with the scroll wheel of a mouse or ideally with a laptop's touchpad.

once the focus is on the scroll bar, the mouse wheel also works as expected.
You can't expect the mouse wheel to work properly till you've selected something.

That's the problem, it is not selected by default. Open two tabs in your favorite browser with long webpages, switch to the other one and you don't have to click inside the page for it to scroll with the wheel. The same should be with the Avast UI when you open it. It should get focus automatically. Minor issue but...

What do you mean by "new popups"? They are very informative and useful as they are.  ::)

Don't talk about new popups.
You'll get e-commerce all exited and we may not like the results. :)

Well the statistics was removed some time ago for revision/reworking, what appears was of even less information than came before. So that too has been withdrawn for revision/reworking as has been mentioned in a number of other posts.

Login to the avast account from UI has already been explained in many other posts, it to should be back soon.

There is little point in asking for something without giving more details, without it, what you get may not be to your liking.

One computer updated itself to .42 ... the other on Win10 did not yet. On Win10 when I clicked on the emupdate.exe it seemed like nothing happens. I have Avast set to Notify When An Update Is Available and when I click on Update Program, it thinks it is at the latest (but it is .30)
