Updating via GUI to new Avast Free Antivirus 17.1.2286 on Windows Vista Home Premium SP2, after computer restart, Avast Free Antivirus is unable to run.
Black screen with the error ". This is really embarrasing. AV service is not responding."
Before updating to 17.1.2286 Avast Free Antivirus was perfectly running on teh same computer, same environment.
Any idea?
Avast UI Failed to load
I don't know if you solved this problem, but maybe this will work for others...
Try this before uninstalling, reinstalling, cleaning in Safe Mode, etc....
1: Open Control Panel, go to Add or Remove Programs, click on Avast - Change/Uninstall - Click Change
2: A new window will open, choose Repair
3: Wait until Avast make necessary settings
4: When it's over, in that window will appear a green button DONE
5: IMPORTANT : Don't click on it (DO NOT CLICK GREEN BUTTON "DONE"!!!), don't touch anything there, don't apply, DON'T DO ANYTHING, just press Start button from taskbar and click on Restart your Computer.
6: Wait until machine restart, system is loaded and Avast icon appear in Taskbar. After that click on orange Avast icon from taskbar and see if Avast interface is loading.
After SEVERAL installing and uninstalling (8 times), Safe Mode cleaning, Program Update (and
other stuffs recommended fom others on internet), nothing worked, Avast UI failed to load
again and again. I don't have this problem on my Win 7 or Win 10 computers, so I don't know
if what I have done will work on that OS's...
Well, now it's working, and this is all I can say.
( My old machine: Acer Travelmate 2410 / WINDOWS XP PRO x86 / 1 GB Ram /Intel Celeron M 1.5 GHz processor, Avast Free Antivirus 17.4.2294 (build 17.4.3482.0) )
Good luck everyone!
