I just purchased the Avast Pro Software, downloaded it and screen is black

Hi, After I paid for and downloaded the software it re-started my computer and it got to the point where it said preparing desktop, then my screen went black.  My computer is a desktop with Windows Vista 32 bit.  I tried calling support but I can't seem to get help unless I use the "simple fix" for $79.00.  Can someone please help me?  Thank you in advance!!!

- Make sure any pre(vious) installed av is completely removed
- Run avastclear in safemode > https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
- Install the latest avast version > https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=196445.0

See if that is solving the problem.

You can't if you can't boot the system in normal mode and/or can't get to the desktop.

Download avastclear on a working system (if needed) and transfer it to yours with help from a usb stick (or other portable media)

Thanks, I needed a laugh right now.    I wish I was a magician, that would solve all my problems.   I was in safe mode and tried to get online it says I'm connected, but I can't do anything.  I will use my laptop to get the Avastclear. Once I have it on the USB media can I transfer it to my desktop in safe mode?  You can probably tell I don't know anything about computers.  Thank you!!!

Yes, simply transfer it from to the system with the problem and run it.
After that, let's see if your system boots without a problem.
