Avast 17 UI too high for Netbook's 1024 x 600 screen? (FIXED!)

Today Avast updated automatically to 17.1.2286 (build 17.1.3394.0)
New UI is much longer than 600 pixel screen height.
No option to change Netbook screen resolution
No option to change Avast UI size.
So can't access 'Settings' menu!
Please advise - any hacks?/reinstall Avast 12?(how?)/move to other AV?(recommends pse)

Not very bright guys!  Devs/Beta testers asleep at the wheel?

Hi Asyn,

I can't even SEE the settings menu - it's off the bottom of my screen.

Please explain exactly how I "can resize the settings menu" I can't access?????

Much better would be to resize whole UI so it is all on my screen!!!!!

Where do you go after you click settings?  I browsed around and didn't see where I can resize.

Please look at both screenshots posted above - lower one is with taskbar hidden - Settings menu still offscreen!

I don't have much hope though... :(

 ...I've already trawled through the Avast 17 Beta threads and several mentions that new Avast 17 UI would be 'too long for small screens' (e.g. Netbooks with max 600 pixel screen height) during Beta testing of various Release Candidates... so IMHO Devs have had plenty of forewarning and deliberately chosen to ignore those of us with small screen?

I guess AVAST no longer want Netbook owners to use their product for some unfathomable reason?  Pity. :(

Indeed strange.

You see less of the GUI if the taskbar is hidden then you do when it is not. :-\

And on a note :
Silly marketing department is doing it again.
I get the same offer but with up to 75% discount...  ::)

Indeed strange!

But makes whole upgrade to AVAST 17 a useless piece of junk for us small screen users!

Please advise best way to reinstall last AVAST 12 offering - v12.3.2281 I think?

Is this available on AVAST site somewhere?

Or do I need to go to 3rd party - FileHippo, etc?
