[BUG] Avast 17 - SP4
« on: February 08, 2017, 10:20:01 AM »
Hello,

I updated yesterday to Avast 17 on my Surface Pro 4. However, after install, I was unable to boot, getting a BSOD w/ error whea_uncorrectable_error. I was finally able to boot my machine after uninstalling avast from safe mode. However, upon installing Avast again, I got BSODs again even after disabling hardware virtualization in avast settings (i read this error was likely due to a conflict between vmWare and Avast). That being said, I was only able to boot to Windows normally w/ Avast! installed after uninstalling vmWare Player (i'm not using it for now but I'll probably need it some time within the next months). Does anyone know of a solution to run both vmWare and Avast 17 (disabling VT-x use in Avast didn't help) ?

Secondly, the GUI of the new Avast version seems to be buggy, esp during a scan as despite the scan going on, I can't see the percentage increasing (sometimes closing the window and reopening it gets me an updated view) ? Any idea what this might be due to ?

Thanks
