Cannot connect to server on Mac OS 10.12

Hi, Avast was working great until today: "Cannot connect to service". I tried numerous solutions but can't get it running.

Hello,

Where are you seeing this message, can you post a screenshot?  I am assuming perhaps it is failing to update the VPS, do you have any 3rd party firewall software installed on your Mac?

The answer will most probably be in the system log file. Please have a look at it using "Console" and post the relevant parts here (lets start with filtering for "avast" for simplicity).
