UI problems since a recent update

Recently the Avast tray icon has been missing stopping me from running scans, i can see the Avast process still running in the background and windows isnt freaking out telling me to turn it back on so it appears to still be there, when i click the desktop icon to try and bring up the UI it then shows the tray icon again. Unfortunately when i try to open the IU using the tray icon it stays open for about 3 seconds then closes and creates 2-6 tray icons then goes back down to one shortly after, every time closing the UI.

Some google searching turned up nothing though i may just be bad at wording searches.

Repair Avast:
1. Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs -> Avast
2. Click on 'Repair'.
3. Follow instructions.
4. Reboot.
