I have Avast Home Edition installed in my computer. In the past, three viruses attempted to get into my computer. Avast software notified me and I had the option to "delete" which I did.

This week I have been getting an Avast message that only gives me the option to "abort connection" and not delete.

The message is for virus detection: "http://85.255.1[broken_to_avoid_clicks]13.214/1/gdnUS2218.exe[Yoda]

What is going on? Why do I not have the "delete" option when I get this message?

The warning comes from Web Shield that detected the malware being downloaded to your computer and stopped it. Since it's not yet on your computer, the "Delete" option doesn't have much sense here.

Why don't you simple remove this buttom from the GUI?
Where is the GUI development?

The button is not there - that's what the first post was about.

Thanks to all that answered. I was under the impression that I had been infected, despite the Avast software. I was wrong.

But it is annoying to keep receiving those warnings (and the balloon on the sys tray)  from the same IP address, since I am not visiting them.

Maybe there is some type of malware on your computer that is trying to contact that website. See this Google search:

http://www.google.com/search?q=gdnUS2218.exe&rls=com.microsoft:en-US&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&startIndex=&startPage=1

Do you have a firewall? Have you tried running any type of malware removers?

Works with Windows 98, Me, 2000, & XP:
Ad-aware
Spybot - Search & Destroy

Works with Windows 2000 & XP:
ewido anti-malware
