Total newbie here. I just made an account so I could post here once i saw others having similar issue. Mines slightly different though, I've done scans and scans for days, but I keep getting a Threat Detected/Blocked pop up. It doesn't seem to me like its really a virus or malware though, its located in my windows\system32 and the object is related to something to do with windows10/microsoft updates? Really confusing and I haven't done anything differently on my computer than I normally do. I'm hoping its just a false reading and related to the problem you guys are having...And I hope its fixed soon!

I'm experiencing the same problem with VBS: Malware-gen alerts.  I did a boot scan and 219 files are in the virus chest.  Not knowing what I was doing I messed around with the auto and repair buttons.  I didn't delete anything manually.  I can't find any instructions on how to restore files from the virus chest if and when it's safe to do so.

Like others who've posted, I don't know what sort of damage I may have done with the boot scan and repair.  My computer and windows are working fine.  I'm wondering whether I should do a system restore.  I guess I'm waiting for word from Avast at this point.

That's all I know, but it sounds more like a full vps update.

That's all I know, but it sounds more like a full vps update.
Confirmed, should be out in around 1 hour or less.

Hopefully it'll solve the problem. It gives me this malware popup even for images on google
